Guiding You Through Life’s Transitions

MEET NARA, THE LEGACY DESIGNER®, AND THE FOUNDER OF

HERBOWY LAW

Nara Herbowy-Callanan is an estate planning attorney and the founder of Herbowy Law, PLLC, where she helps individuals and families design thoughtful, legally sound plans that bring clarity today and security for the future.

Her work is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: legal life planning is not just about documents—it is about creating a life and business that is organized, protected, and intentionally designed for the people you love and the people that you serve and provide for.

Nara guides her clients through the often complex intersection of legal, financial, and personal decision-making, helping them create plans that support their families, preserve their assets, and reflect their values. Her practice focuses on family protection, trust-based planning, wealth preservation, and planning strategies for entrepreneurs and business owners.

Whether a client is just beginning, navigating a life transition, or refining an existing plan, Nara offers a modern, concierge-style experience designed to meet people where they are—with clarity, flexibility, and care.

Nara earned her law degree from Albany Law School, where she served as a Note & Comment Editor for the Albany Law Review and completed competitive clerkships, including work with the New York State Division of Human Rights.

She began her career at AYCO, A Goldman Sachs Company, in its Estate Financial Services Division, where she provided SurvivorSupport® services to families across the country—guiding them through the legal and financial realities following the loss of a loved one. She was later promoted to Account Manager, advising high-net-worth individuals and executives from Fortune 500 companies.

Nara continued her work with affluent clients at Northern Trust, where she expanded her expertise in estate planning, tax strategy, and employee benefits. She later joined Ernst & Young, contributing to the firm’s tax guide and advising employees of major corporations including 3M and Boeing on financial, estate, and retirement planning.

Nara views estate planning not simply as a legal exercise, but as a design process: one that requires intention, structure, and a clear vision for the future.

Above all, Nara is a wife and mother. She lives in New Jersey with her husband and three children.

Her personal experience informs her work every day—bringing a deeper understanding of what it means to care for a family, plan for uncertainty, and create a legacy that endures.

She serves families and business owners in New York State, New Jersey, and The Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
